Getting paid

Payouts

Card payments go through Stripe, which pays them into your bank account. Caletan never holds your money.

Getting set up

Connect Stripe from Settings, Getting paid (see Getting paid with Stripe). Stripe asks for your bank account, for payouts, and a few things about you, and keeps them.

Getting paid, before Stripe Card payments are on

If Stripe later needs more from you, it holds your payouts until you've given it, and your Today says so. People keep paying by card meanwhile.

Your payouts

Once card payments are on, Getting paid shows your payouts: what's In your next payout, what's Still clearing from the last few days' payments, and each payout to your bank, newest first, with when it arrives and whether it's on its way, paid or failed.

Payouts: $326.00 in the next, $412.50 on its way tomorrow

Stripe pays out on its own, every few days, once payments clear. A payout that fails says so; Stripe tries again once your bank account is fixed.

What comes off

Each card payment costs Stripe's rate in your country, 2.9% and 30¢ in Canada and the US, plus Caletan's fee: 0.5% of the payment, or 0.2% in the US. A founding studio pays no fee for its first year, then half; on the Pro plan, there's none. Stripe takes them both from the payment, and pays you the rest.

Payments you take at your studio, in cash or on another card machine, never go through Stripe, and have no fee. Those on a Stripe card reader are card payments like any other (see Card readers at your counter).
