Your plan with Caletan
Every feature is on every plan. The plans differ only in how you pay Caletan, and you change plan whenever you like, from Settings, Your plan.
The three plans
- Pay as you go costs nothing a month. Families pay by card through Stripe, online and at your counter, and Caletan takes a small share of each card payment: 0.5% in Canada, 0.2% in the United States. Most businesses start here.
- Studio is a flat US$9 a month, for collecting payments yourself: families pay you directly, by cash, cheque, e-transfer or your own card machine, and you mark their bills paid. There are no card payments through Caletan, so no share of them.
- Pro is a flat US$100 a month, with card payments and no share at all. Caletan tells you when Pro would have cost you less.
In Canada, Caletan adds GST or HST to its plans and its share, by your province. Stripe's own processing fee is separate, and goes to Stripe.

Changing plan
Tap a plan under Change plan. Caletan asks first, saying what it charges today: the month's price, less what's left of a month you've already paid for another plan, and the tax. The first month is charged to your card with Caletan at once, and then each month on the same day.

Your card with Caletan is the one for your plan and for texting; change it under Your card with Caletan. Each month you pay has its receipt under Receipts, a PDF to keep, with its tax.

To go back to Pay as you go, tap it. From Studio, you can take card payments now, and Studio ends that day, or at the end of the month you've paid for. Until a plan ends, Keep it changes your mind.

On Studio, Getting paid says families pay you directly; Take card payments instead moves you to Pay as you go, then connects Stripe.

When a payment doesn't go through
If your bank declines the month's charge, Your plan says why, and Caletan tries again each day; Try again now tries at once, after you've changed your card if you need to. After 14 days unpaid, you're back on Pay as you go: on Studio, that means families pay by card once Stripe is connected, and bills already owed at your business stay so.

Service fees, for your books
On Pay as you go, Stripe takes Caletan's share from each card payment as it's paid, so there's nothing to pay separately. Service fees lists each month's, with their GST or HST, and each month is a statement to download for your bookkeeper.

Founding studios
The first businesses on Caletan are founding studios: they pay Caletan nothing for their first year, whatever the plan, then half price for as long as they stay.
